Product information

Chipfoam (or reconstituted foam,) is made by putting scrap foam through a chipping process and then subjecting this to high pressure while adding steam & glue. The more glue and higher the pressure, the harder and heavier the chipfoam becomes.

Chipfoam is used in a wide variety of applications from anything like making economy range mattresses, to using inside rugby scrum-machine pads or gym matts. Whenever high impact is concerned particularly if the foam cannot be very thick then chipfoam is the answer for you. Chipfoam can also be used when building a custom mattress that needs to be thin (as with trailers that have rooftop mattresses where space is limited,) to prevent people from lying through the foam and feeling the base. In this case it would be best to glue a convoluted (eggshell) sheet or memory foam sheet on top just to soften it up a little. (add links)

There are many different densities of chipfoam and it is best contact one of our sales representatives to find out which density is best for your needs.
